Life with "Brandy"

I hand built the car in 1998 and shortly after that the company I worked for sent me out on the road to deal with the year 2000 issues. I started plane trips but began to choose to drive. So my recent build became my transportation! I soon learned that gas stops were no longer in and out! Now at each gas station and at every rest stop it was an hour long chat with people that wanted to know what kind of car it was. Of course pictures were taken of the kids in THE car too. People I never would have normally met were now eager to talk about a car. On i40 going through Nashville in the pouring rain and bumper to bumper traffic a large RV slowly came up along side of me. A lady was hanging out the window asking me if I wanted a dry towel. I thanked her for the offer.

Days later I pulled into an old style gas station. You filled the car with gas and then walk up into the store to pay for the gas... as I was paying I heard, in a strong British accent "bet that car doesn't have a Bristol engine in it!?" Oner at a table sat a white haired man that as I walked over I said "nope its got a ford small block... but how did you know they use to come with the Bristol engines?"

Soon I'm sitting at the table as he explaines he's from England and at onetime he worked there for the AC car company. An hour later I'm back on the road again.

The car... now called Brandy"... is still creating extended stops along along the way. I learned that the car was unique but the people I got to meet along the way is what made the trips worth while.
