    This is a 1979 Ford Ranchero 500 that has had an engine swap. The stock 302 was exchanged for a big block 460 by a previous owner, who was starting to convert this car to a drag car when he sold it to the guy I bought it from. The interior needed work, and I am exchanging the stock bench seat for power leather buckets from a 1979 1/2 Ranchero that are being re-covered now. It was painted poorly by a previous owner, and I will be painting it this coming winter (2021/22). I need to add A/C, as the owner who swapped the engine took out all of the A/C equipment. I am not sure whether there are any other heating components left in the car. I have switched out the radio, and will be adding door panel speakers.

    Future Plans

    The car will be repainted black this coming winter, and the bed, which is covered in rubberized bedliner will be stripped and painted gloss black as well. I want to add red washed stained wooden bed slats, side pipes, Kindig flush door handles, a flush mount gas cap, add power door locks and strip the outside door lock cylinders. Under the hood, I have already bought the Holley black long oval air cleaner for the 4 bbl Holley carb, and I will be adding Holley black valve covers. The only real issue under the hood is the A/C I mentioned above. I have no idea what components are left, and what I need to add to have fully functional heat and A/C. I may also add cruise control, but not sure yet.
