  • Vehicle Overview

I bought this nomad in 1971 at the age of 16. I have owned and taken care of it ever since. In 1975 I helped with the first paint job by completely taking the car apart and off the frame. I also put it all back together with new wiring and got it running again. In 2002 I sent another frame to Paul Newman Car Creations and had him set it up to accept all C-4 Corvette suspension and an LS-1 with a 4L60E trans. I got the bare frame back and installed the suspension, brakes, engine and transmission. Then swapped this frame under my Nomad. In 2011 I decided it was time to repaint the car. I took up to my friends shop and we worked together for 3.5 years on the custom touches, like the split tailgate and several other little changes. After it was painted, I brought it back to my garage to do all the assembly and took it to get the interior done. In 2020 I removed the Corvette transverse leaf springs and installed Aldan American double adjustable coil overs at all 4 corners. It still handles and rides much smoother than before.

    Future Plans

I have another project to build and I thinking of swapping an LS-3 into the Nomad and putting the LS-1 out of the Nomad into my 1957 Cameo project.
