Vehicle Overview

This is a resto-mod project I have had for 6 years. It came with a rebuilt 302 and C-4 and all its original trim and emblems, but had been neglected. I added Pertronix electronic coil and ignition, new plug wires and did a minor tune up and it runs strong. I added 1968 Mustang buckets on homemade brackets to replace the bench seat as well an original S-2 center console I snagged on ebay and restored. American Racing Torque Thrust Ds off a '72 Mustang and new BFG Radial T/As were also added. The new interior includes a custom rear seat, rear deck, carpet, door panels and headliner. New chrome bumpers, chrome traction bars, a repaint, and custom pin stripping complete the package. The Merc's first show was the Good Guys Southwest Nationals in Scottsdale in March.

Future Plans

I would like to replace the plain valve covers with ones that say "302" and add a K & N style air filter. I would also like to add EFI, an electric fuel pump and new tank, budget allowing. I also would like to replace the rear end with a cut down 9" with taller gears for highway driving.
