I picked this 1989 Bronco up in the spring of 2021 and almost immediately started in to the modifications.
This is my daily driver and has 2 car seats in it at all times so it's imperative that reliability and safety are a focus. First order of business was addressing the factory steering and worn out suspension. I opted to do a full Saginaw Swap as well as a 2" level kit from Desolate Motorsports paired with a set of BIlstein 5125/5165 shocks front and rear. After the suspension was done it was time to address the wheels/tires. I was fortunate enough to come across 6 NOS Alcoa M/T's when passing through Southern Indiana and wrapped those in a set of 33x12.5 Cepek Trail Country's.
After all of the drivetrain was done it was time to start playing a bit under the hood. Nothing serious was done but I threw on a set of JBA 1628s headers, Remflex gaskets and ARP hardware. To keep the engine cool a 3 row Champion radiator was installed as well.
That's where the Bronco stayed for the next 6 months or so until Spring 2022 when I dove in to the engine management/EFI. If there's one thing severely lacking on these old Ford's it's the archaic Speed Density system. I opted to go Terminator X Max so I could keep MPFI and get rid of the C6 transmission to gain an OD gear for highway cruising. Along with the Terminator X system I installed an MSD cap/rotor along with Ford Performance 9mm wires.
I cannot say enough good things about Terminator X Max; install was a breeze and tuning has been superb. This thing runs better than it ever did and is an absolute pleasure to cruise in.
Next up, Kenne Bell TS-3000 2.2L super charger.
Currently refinishing a Kenne Bell TS-3000 2.2L super charger to mount up to the 351w. Will be adding 36lb Holley injectors and a full Flowmaster exhaust from the headers back.
