  • Vehicle Overview

My ride is a 1967 Chevy Impala SS, it is a steel body with a Jegster tube chassis with a 10 point cage. Steering is a Pinto rack and pinion with polished stainless Speedway Motors 40" column and a Grant race wheel on a quick release hub. It has a narrowed Mark Williams Dana 60 with 4.88 gears. It's rolling on Weld Draglites with M/T Sportsman big and littles. The engine is a .030 over 454 BBC with SpeedPro 10.5:1 pistons, Comp roller cam and lifters, Rollmaster billet double roller timing set, ProMaxx aluminum heads on studs with chrome moly pushrods and stainless roller rockers, RPM air gap intake, fabricated aluminum valve covers, Melling M77 oil pump with 80lb spring, and 7 qt oil pan. The exhaust is 2 inch primary stainless headers with 3.5 inch outlets. Trans is a built 4L80E electronic overdrive with an Edge Racing 3600 stall lockup converter and TCI Fast Gate shifter. Distributor is HEI with Mallory coil. Fuel tank is a 16 gallon rear mounted Tanks Inc steel tank with in tank 1000hp electric pump and GM sending unit. Rear quarters have been replaced and wheelwells stretched for the big tires. Equipped with 4 wheel Wilwood disc brakes and master cylinder. The car will be a street legal car that you can drive to the drag strip and rip off some 5 second eighth mile runs with and still cruise on the highway at 2200 rpm at 70 MPH.

    Future Plans

Will be purchasing an FITech 800hp Injection unit for easy starting and smooth driving. Will be installing an FITech standalone controller and harness for the 4L80E. Stainless 3 inch exhaust with Flowmasters will be side exit in front of the rear tires. Ordered a VFN bolt on glass trunk lid. Driveshaft needs to be shortened and installed. Sheetmetal interior with bucket seats and dual Crow 5 point harnesses is currently in process. Already have a Speedway Motors 21 circuit wiring harness to rewire the whole car. Want to install Vintage Air HVAC system for cruising comfort. Budget is a concern, trying to keep things under $25K and I'm already about $18K in now. But it will be finished!
