  • Vehicle Overview

This is a 1966 Sunbeam Alpine with a Buick 215cu.in. aluminum V8. My original intent was to install a SBC 350cu.in. but would have had to cut away some of the firewall to make room for the rear mounted distributor. When I found this car, it had the Buick V8 in it. After some research, the Buick motor had advantages...aluminum block which reduced about 170lbs from the front end, more horsepower per cubic inch and had a history of durability. We rebuilt the motor, attempting to keep it stock with an addition of an Edelbrock manifold, a Holley 650cfm 4 barrel carburetor, Petronix distributor and custom made headers. Wheels are by VTO with 235/60/15 Nitto tires. The front end is a Mustang II, 8" Ford rear end and a T5 transmission. A burl wood dash was installed with VDO guages. All electrical wiring was replaced. Engine was rebuilt by Adam Baez in Gardena, California. Body work and paint was done by L,A. Street Customs in North Hollywood, California.
