Vehicle Overview

The only vehicles Ive ever owned have been old chevy trucks. The first vehicle I ever owner was a 1981 chevy step side with a straight 6. That's the truck I learned on with my dad. Those engines are so small I could sit inside the engine bay and work on it. After high school, I sold that and moved to a 1979 fleet side, and I had this thing so nice. It had all the bells whistles, and aftermarket add ons. I sold that when I went to the peace corps. When I returned I regretted selling my 79 so much and set out to find my dream chevy truck, a 63-66 C10. I found it in 2010. The perfect project truck. A 1965 C10 with a good enough body, short bed fleetside with a big back window. A great project truck. I got the 230 running and it was my daily driver for a couple years. worked on it when I could. As we all know life gets in the way, so it's been sitting for about 10 years, but it still runs like a champ. I think I am finally blessed enough to have the prefect combination of time, money (very little) and energy to finally make it happen. Mostly the energy and time.

Future Plans

My future plans with ol' blue, as I call her, is to restore her to her former glory. I want to kill all the rust in the cab corners, rockers, doors, and floor. I also want to upgrade the steering, suspension, brakes. I want to move the gas tank from the cab to under the bed, install AC and add a radio. The interior needs a complete upgrade too. And most importantly Id like to swap the engine, transmission and rear end. I'd like to convert it back to a column shift as a previous owner altered it to floor shift. It needs a complete re build, but I'm here for it. I want to keep some of the classic features though, such as stock looking gauges and radio, and keep the manual doors and windows. I plan on doing all the work I can with the assistance of my pop, my brother and whatever friends I can get to assist, and professionals I can afford.. Im no slouch in the garage, but not a professional mechanic by any means, just an enthusiast with a dream.
