  • Vehicle Overview

This truck has a heck of a story and definitely a lot of sentimental value to it, So this might be long. To start, this was my first ever vehicle. I’ve always had a love for these trucks and have owned many more, but it really all starts with my fathers 88’ W150 he’s owned since it was practically new. Growing up around his truck is what sparked a lifelong obsession and passion. I bought this truck locally from the original owner in 2017 at age 14 with money I had saved up mowing lawns, yard work, etc on summer break before my sophomore year. My Dad and me got as far as taking the body off the truck, putting in a 5in lift, repairing/painting the frame, and going through the engine before it got too cold out and we put it off to the side till next year. That coming February I was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor and went through almost 8 months of treatment, not feeling up to par of course I was out of school a lot, and liked solitude more than anything. I didn’t try to let that try and stop me. So I would try to do what I could on it to keep my mind occupied and less stressed if I felt up to it. I surpassed everything and was a 100% free that coming August before my Junior year, but the truck was still far from completion and winter was closing in soon. The Make a Wish Foundation soon contacted my family about what I may want to do for a wish and I had no idea at the time, especially being overwhelming as something like that was. Then I thought of the possibility of them being able to somehow help with the completion of the truck if it was plausible. They certainly helped out, only under the condition it went to a reputable shop to be completed they would grant 10k towards it as my wish. A few months later It went to a family friend’s garage close to my house where I could still be hands on with it, as well contribute my own money on top of them having a full time job after school and feeling a whole lot better. April of 2019 it finally made its way back home where my father and me buttoned it up and did some extra things such as 35’s, a 4:11 swap, finishing up the interior, and getting it running like a top. To be expected there was still some odds and ends here and there so it didn’t really see the road much till my senior year. I’m now 21 as I’m writing this and feel better than ever. I couldn’t of ever done this without my family and friends being at my side, and especially thankful for the Make a Wish Foundation as well as Kmieche’s shop for launching everything much further than I could’ve imagined.

    Future Plans

Recently had a 5.7 Hemi that came out of a 13’ Ram 2500 given to me that most likely has lifter/cam issues I plan on rebuilding and swapping in using the Terminator system since I have none of the original harnesss or computers, and most likely along with a 545RFE. Especially since the original 318/727 combo is quite tired, I see it having some fun drivability.

    Wishlist: 88’ Hemi Swap
