    In 1982 the car was modified with a Scarab Stage III kit (turbocharged 350 SBC, HEI dizzy with MSD, Super T10 Trans, Recaro Seats, Wide Body, Louvered Hood. Owner added box section 4pt roll bar and rear strut brace. Second owner swapped in Simmons 3pc rims and microswitches in console to turn off running and brake lights...he was a street racer. I purchased the car in 2000 and over the ensuing years made the following changes: swapped the QJet carb out for a PowerJection III EFI as the carbed setup was inconsistent in performance. Then converted from a draw-thru to blow-thru and added meth injection from AlkyControl and swapped the T10 out for a T56 6 speed trans and enlarged the exhaust system. I fabbed a stainless grill and upgraded wiring to add relays for headlights and A/C. Added J&S Electronics Safeguard knock control system. After bording/stroking to 393 the PowerJection could not flow enough air so I swapped in the Holley Sniper 650, Hyperspark Dizzy and Holley Coil, added larger Griffin aluminum radiator and Taurus 2 speed electric fan and installed an in-tank fuel pump using a 1999-2002 F-body module and a Fuelab high capacity pump accessed thru a door I installed in the hatch floor. Swapped out stock u-joint halfshafts for Futofab 108mm CV joint axles from Porsche Turbo. Swapped out dash lights for LEDs.

    Future Plans

    Upgrade the Taurus fan to a Derale High Output Single 17'' Electric RAD Fan/Aluminum Shroud Kit. Add Holley solenoids to better control boost levels.
