This truck is a 1960 Ford F-250 factory four-wheel drive, the last known Factory F-250 4×4 to come off the assembly line for the 1960 model year, marking the end of Ford’s third-generation truck platform. It represents one of the earliest examples of Ford’s factory four-wheel-drive engineering, built for durability and torque-focused performance.

Power is supplied by a rebuilt 292 Ford Y-block V8 bored to approximately 301 cubic inches, featuring an aluminum four-barrel intake, Holley carburetion, long-tube headers, and a modernized Pertronix ignition system. Thermal management has been improved through deletion of the factory heat crossover to increase consistency and reliability.
A T-98A four-speed manual transmission and 4.55 gearing deliver substantial wheel torque in keeping with the truck’s original work-oriented design. Suspension, braking, and tire selection remain true to the era, preserving the truck’s authentic character.
The result is a mechanically focused restoration that preserves Ford’s early factory four-wheel-drive heritage while delivering dependable, torque-driven performance.
