Vehicle Overview
I bought this truck in 2015 and I knew I wanted to level it and put some nicer and bigger tires on it. After that I drove it for a while and then started coming up with more ideas for what to do with it. I wanted to get some of the power back that I lost from the tires, so my next project was to regear the differentials. I went from the factory 3.42 gears to 4.10. The next project on my list was to eliminate the factory transmission fluid thermostat. I bought the Earl's products listed below and a Tru-Cool Max transmission cooler, then some aluminum flat from a local hardware store to make some mounting brackets for the cooler. Along with the transmission cooler I added a deep transmission pan. Now my trans temp runs at 140-150 degrees opposed to the 190 it would run at with the factory set up. Next on my upgrade list was swapping my to a 6.2 intake manifold and throttle body and then long tube headers and cat back exhaust.
