Vehicle Overview
1968 Mercury Cyclone, originally a well equipped 302 / 4 speed car. Had been cosmetically restored in the mid 1990's. I purchased the Cyclone 10 years ago and it has been a work in progress to get to this point. Paint and Body has been restored in original Candy Apple Red in base clear by Franklin's (Scott) Auto Body of Smithfield PA. Power now is provided by a World Products Man of War block stroked to 427 CI producing 576 H.P. A top loader 4 speed, Hurst Competition Plus, RAM Clutch & FW, Quick Performance / Strange 9" 350 rear. The uni-body construction is tied together with a modified set of Global West sub-frame connectors. Cyclone rolls on Magnum 500's and BFG - TA's. Cyclone placed in the top 25 at the 2018 Holley Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green and was displayed at the U.S Nationals in Indy the same year. In 2019 Cyclone was picked for Indoor display at Goodguys at York PA. One of the best things about having the Cyclone is how rare and unique they are. You hardly ever see another Cyclone unless your at a Ford event. Also the large number of people who have never seen this model and don't know the Great NASCAR history this body style enjoyed.
Future Plans
Possible Heavy Duty 5 Speed and Hydraulic Clutch
