  • Vehicle Overview

Our son bought this 1967 Mustang when he was 15. I ended up buying it from him so he could buy a car to drive when he turned 16. The car was a total wreck, Floor pans were rusted out and so was the rear quarter panel. It fact every panel either was rusted, dented or both. I was going to scrap it out but my wife decided we were going to restore it. After 5 years of welding new panels in and pounding out a lot of dents, she became Flamed Pony. We rebuilt the 289 in it. Porting and polishing the heads, new intake manifold, carburetor and pistons. Stuffed in a mild cam and added electronic ignition. It Dyno’d at the rear wheels at a little over 300 HP We removed the automatic and replaced it with a T-5 (5-speed) with a hydraulic clutch. Replaced the radiator, and rebuilt the differential. Added disk brakes up front. Put in a new style console with new bucket seats. The paint job is PPG’s Wineberry over a base coat of gold. The Black ghost flames have metal flake in them and are under the Wineberry clear coat Modifications Custom paint Job Changed from an Automatic to a T-5 Tremec 5-speed Hydraulic Clutch Front Disk Brakes Upgraded seats Console Light up Door sills Sequential taillights Sequential turn signal markers in hood Ceramic coated Tri Y headers Power antenna AM-FM Stereo
