  Sounds like the ignition module needs to be replaced. Super easy to get to and does take a special tool, like 5-6$. Motorcraft part is great but about 106$. It’s located on the back side of the distributor on the bottom back side. Don’t forget the dielectric grease!

  Also did you gap your spark plugs correctly? .044?
