This model of carburetor has the square bore flange bolt pattern. It can replace Holley, Edelbrock, Carter AFB, and Autolite style carburetors with 5 3/16" x 5 5/8" bolt pattern. If you have a spreadbore style intake manifold, you will need an adapter to install this carburetor. Similar to the Mr. Gasket #1932.

67258 Quick Fuel Brawler Carb

I purchased this carb from Summit Racing after doing a lot of research. This carb was to go on a fresh crate engine from GM The engine is a stock 454 engine with a mild cam. 222 duration and 540 lift hyl roller. Out of the box the carb blew black smoke across the street it was so rich. After lots of time with tech at summit it was not working any better so I called the tech at Holley. I made the modifications that they suggested that got the carb to at least idle properly, but still ran so rich that it fouled the plugs and when drivng it took 3 gallons of gas to go 7 miles! when parked the entire garaged smelled of fuel. I finally changed the carb out with a old used Holley 1850S, put in new plugs and my car runs great. So I tried to return the carb to summit and they told me I could not return it because I had it over 90 days. I purchased it before I needed it so it sat on my shelf till my engine was in. Now I am stuck with this carb. I am sure there is something wrong internally with this carb and it is probably a fluke, but I cannot afford to purchase another one. What a bummer. I will try to talk to Holley again regarding a resolution. I will stick to the real Holleys in the future even though this is the same company that makes the Brawler. I have always used Holleys with excellent results on the street and the drag strip.

Purchased this carb from Holley in bowling green Kentucky. Installed on Fresh 388 stroker and it was way rich. fouled 3 sets of plugs. Changed PV, Jets, IAB, you name it I did it. Fuel bowls would even drain overnight into intake. Smell of gas took over my whole yard. fouled 5 sets of plugs before it ran good. Was the rubber o-ring for PV. was leaking. Took awhile to figure it out couldn't tell by looking at it. Put all original components back in except jets and pv for my vacuum. Now it fires up and has awesome response. I love it now.

here was my experience yesterday with this new out the box shiny aluminum carb, installed on a 461 cid pontiac street motor in our dyno cell. looked it over out of the box found a hairline crack on the secondary return assist link not quite in half but close enough so i dug in my bins and lo and behold i had one installed new cotter pin and a small washer they no longer seem to use them these days. calibrated the fuel turbines with a .110 restriction, set to 6.25 lb used both channels on the dyno to track primary and secondary flow. got things rolling and had to make a small correction to float levels normal stuff, noticed it was super fat on the curb and had a huge hole in the fuel delivery off idle. the accelerator pump arm was better than 1/8" away! had to bend link arm w/pliers. the main jetting was close at 12.5 or so under load thru a 2500-5500 sweep. then the 4 corner idle out of the the box at 1/2-3/4 turn left me fat at 850 and a tad shy of fuel right before the boosters start cracking.so it was just lazyness that i opened the iab,s and set all 4 idle mixture screws to 1-1/2 turn from lightly seated instead of pulling fuel from the ifr,s. i ended up with 72 jets up front 81,s in the back w the 6.5 pv. time was a factor as always but at the end of the day it was workable. 14.2 idle 13.6 cruise 12.7-12.8 wot 185f water temp 60 deg.air -7 ngk .045 gap 22deg base 36 total fbo bushing heavy silver springs 51523-9 comp 10.25-1 458 hp uncorrected 542 lbft uncorrected.93 octane 830 rpm idle 15 inches vacuum
