2022 Dino's Git Down: The GM Truck Get-Together In Arizona

There are truck shows, then there is Dino’s Git Down, a two-day gathering that was held at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona this year. The 12th annual Git Down brought Chevrolet and GMC trucks from all over the country to gather in Glendale, Arizona, for two days of GM-only glory and good times.

Since it’s inception just over a decade ago, the Git Down has grown from a small gathering of friends that shared a love for Chevy trucks to a full-scale Super Bowl event. The past couple years the show surrounded the Westgate Entertainment Center, but this year the show moved a couple blocks down to take over a good chunk of Cardinal Stadium’s massive parking area. There was said to be room for 5,000 trucks, and by Friday afternoon the parking lot was at capacity.

With over 140 vendors on hand, ranging from patina polish to chassis shops that could show you how to put your truck’s frame on the ground and every part in between, enthusiasts had plenty to take in. Rows of professional builders were on hand to show their latest projects and even Chevrolet Performance was on hand…and one lucky guest won a giveaway LT4 crate engine from them!

There was also a beautifully manicured grassy area where tents were pitched, coolers were cracked and grilles were lit with burgers and carne asada being prepared for snacking. This was a great area for families and clubs to get together, talk trucks and enjoy the perfect November weather.

On Saturday, the Git Down welcomes all classic Chevys so it was nice to see a sprinkling of Chevelles, Novas, Camaros, Impalas and others in a sea of trucks. The show took place on Friday and Saturday (Nov. 11-12) and welcomed Chevy trucks from 1938 to 1998, including Blazers, Suburbans, Carryalls, Cab-Overs and more. The range of styles that could be seen was broad…there were trucks that were patina’d or painted to perfection, dropped or lifted, and every form you can think of, driven by a cast of characters that simply just love their trucks.
