The Sniper EFI development team invests a lot of time and effort in adding functionality to their throttle body fuel injection systems. Features such as metric units, adjustable screen brightness and increased tuning options give users the ability to do even more with their already incredibly capable systems. But, what if you purchased your TBI a few years ago? Don't worry, you can upgrade to the latest firmware by following the easy steps below. Let's get started!

  • Begin by removing the SD card from the 3.5" Display, it is located in the upper-left hand corner.
  • Insert the SD card into a computer.
  • Head over to Holley's website, under "Support", go to "EFI Software". (CLICK HERE.)
  • Navigate to the "Sniper EFI" section, find the "Sniper EFI SD Card Contents".
  • Left-click and download, wait for the download to finish.
  • Right-click the downloaded file, and "Show in Folder / Go to Folder". (This will open a document folder containing the new file.)

  • Now extract the file (This process is different depending on the computer, on most Windows OS you will right-click, "Extract-All".)
  • Open the newly extracted file, navigate to the ".fwu" file (Firmware Update). The name will change as firmware revisions are released, look for the .fwu file extension.
  • Right-Click, Copy the .fwu file.
  • Navigate to the Sniper SD card, right-click and paste the copied file onto the root folder.
  • Eject the SD card from the computer and reinstall into 3.5" display.

  • With the SD card reinstalled into display, power on unit and go to the Home screen.
  • Enter "File".
  • Enter "Local Setup".
  • Enter "Local Info".
  • Here you can verify your current firmware version.

  • Once you have verified your current firmware version and that your SD card is installed, enter "Upgrade Device FW" (Firmware).
  • The new firmware will begin to flash, this process can take up to a five minutes.
  • Upon completion, a notification will appear stating the flash upgrade was successful. Hit "OK".
  • Power down the device for 10 seconds.

  • After 10 seconds, power the unit back on.
  • The system will begin finishing the firmware upgrade, percentages will begin counting. This process can take up to an additional five minutes.
  • Once completed, the display will require a reboot. YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO REMOVE THE SD CARD.
  • Power down the device for 10 seconds.
  • After 10 seconds, restore power. Finished!
