Additional mods during the pandemic

By: Paul 05/23/2021

I used the pandemic "off time" to do some modifications. I installed new seats out of a Dodge Caravan, the rear most fold down seats, removed the upper covers to remove the automatic headrests and removed the outer folding armrests (not enough room). I fabricated new mounting pedestals and installed them so I cold have full front to rear adjustment. This required completely reengineering my engine cover/firewall. I fabricated a lower separator out of 6061 aluminum and made 3 pieces all held in place with quarter turn fasteners. Then I installed a sheet of 1/4" lexan that extends from about the upper level of the seats to the headliner. It's held in place with quarter turn fasteners as well. Then to insure sufficient air movement through the engine compartment, I installed 2 900 cfm puller fans that direct the air out below the rear window. I also fabbed and installed a lexan rear window from 5 Star Racing also secured with quarter turn fasteners with two additional circular adjustable 3" vents from American Spruce aircraft parts to add additional venting.

Hopefully will get it finished up in a couple of weeks and get some road time on it.
