Mid-mounted 5.3LS out of a 2011 Surburban, all aluminum, converted from DOD/AFM to LS3/LS7 internals. Holley Terminator TBI with a Zex plate nitrous system. Feeding into a pro built Powerglide and then adapted to a C5 differential with 3.73 gears. C5 half shafts, rear hubs and disc brakes. QA1 coilover rear suspension. Front converted to disc brakes, using 4wd S10 rotors and calipers. Steering has been converted to electric power assist using a modified steering unit from an '06 Chevy Saturn Vue. Cooling via front mounted radiator with twin puller fans and a remote front mounted Meziere water pump using a Davis/Craig controller. That eliminates the front engine mounted water pump and the thermostat. Coolant flow is modulated by the controller and works great. Power windows, seats from a 2000 Pontiac Sunbird, console build to hold the shifter, radio and fuel pressure and transmission temperature guages. Dash has all Autometer guages, complete Autowire system and excessive insulation everywhere.

    Future Plans

Eventually hope to get it on a dyno for a tuning session and then the strip for a couple of passes. The previous engine combination (sbc, carbed, 394 flywheel, 3.17 rear ratio) ran a 12.7@ 111. Not horrible, but I think this setup is capable of a little better.
