Mow Powa Babeh!!

By: Mr.Hoover 07/08/2022

The boat anchor is finally out of the car. The original numbers matching Pontiac 301 recently kicked the bucket. If you know anything about pontiac 301s you know why it's a boat anchor. For the less informed wondering why I would junk the original motor, it's because the Pontiac 301 has no power, no performance parts/aftermarket support, is extremely hard to find parts for, and expensive to rebuild. Now we move on to the "fun" part. Swapping the old with the "new" powerplant. It's a first gen sbc350 (small block chevy) with "newer" 90s vortec heads. It has the accessory drive from a 87-93 sbc350. Mild cam and valve train. I installed Hooker classic headers and bought a used chrome Holley 14" air cleaner in the original box w/ hardware, "Holley" stickers, and a nice air cleaner wingnut. It had rusted slightly in certain areas and has a couple dings but for $10 you can't complain.
