Sold some stuff to fund a dream

By: Alexander 07/01/2024

Yup, cleaned out some vintage guitar gear to fund this. Went down to Nashville and decided I would rather finish my build faster and retire early. So.........cleaned out some amps, some speakers, some guitars. Dropped them off at Carter's on consignment and here we are.

i decided instead of doing a salvaged LS9 or doing another Twin Turbo or Supercharger on a salvaged engine, I'd just go big and have a custom built engine done by Shafiroff and his team......... FYI again friendly reminder, career soldier, never home, don't have time, space, or equipment to build it myself. ,So like many people, saving money making deals while and chasing my dream. Looking back on my personal builds in the past, 750-800 is more than enough for a non-traction controlled, daily driver vehicle lol I'm trying to enjoy early retirement not de at the start of it lol Plus i wanted an engine built by a legendary Engine building team, either Nelson or Shafiroff. I went with Scott's team in the end

  1. I went with a Single Plane intake because I like the look better for an older vehicle than the usual LS intakes out there. I also wanted to run a classic looking air cleaner
  2. I went with an Edelbrock intake because Hollley DOESN'T offer a 4500 Single Plane intake with LS3 intaske runners
  3. I didn't go Dominator carb because it is a daily driver and lets be honest, it makes an easier/more enjoyable life than working on my carb every time I come home do to my deployments. The car sits for 4-5 months straight twice a year. Every time I return, the Carb life demands upkeep.
  4. Old man mentality, I like having big cubes over boost for a street car. I've done the Super thing and I've done the Twin Ts thing. For a street car, NA is easier to drive and the power is more usable and contrallable IMO than a boost monster. Most people with experience would agree. AGAIN, this isn't a race or grudge build. This is my daily. i think I'll be allright
