Interior Pieces aka Death to an Auto Icon Recaro

By: Alexander 08/23/2024

So............Update, drivetrain should be going in during November/December, just gathering pieces.....

It's been taking me longer because

1 Deployed as usual

2 Since this is a auto to manual trans swap, I'm having to change a lot more in the interior since it came with a full bench,

So this involves welding in the missing brackets for seats, having the seats, and making sure the fit and alignment is right

I'm trying to keep everything feeling "period correct" while upgrading with up to date materials and touches for convinience.

For the seats I knew I wanted Recaro LS or LX seats from their classic line. With their sudden announcement of bankruptcy in their automotive sector, I decided to try and find a seat fast before they became unavailable at retail and people start gouging on them.

I went with a seat of reconditioned LX seats opposed to the LS. For me, I'm jkust not a fan of the large side bolsters in older vehicles for look. They seem out of place in my opinion by looking a little too modern but to each their own. I had a 635csi M spec euro that came with fasctory LX seat and loved driving in that car so much. I'm not concerned about the fabric right now as I already have my interior guy ready to cover everything once the trans and engine are dropped.

As for the headrest..........I don't know. I was looking for the classic webbing, but am not sure, I'll see how I like them when they're installed
