T-150 rebuild / Luc clutch

Sarge has a Borg-Warner T150 3 speed transmission. The transmission was starting to grind as I would downshift to 2nd gear but otherwise it worked well. I decided that if the transmission was having that problem if I solved it early before any further damage occurred it would save me money in the long run. Now, I had several goals with the transmission rebuild.

1. The transmission had Pittsburgh steel gears and if the gears were in good shape, I didn't want cheap, poorly made steel gears to replace my existing gears.

2. The clutch worked well but I thought while the transmission was out it should be replaced with a new Luc clutch.

With those goals in mind, I needed a transmission guy with gray hair to rebuild it. A friend recommended Rodney's Transmission in Tompkinsville Ky. The transmission was removed and shipped to Rodney. I gave him goal #1 with the gears to replace only what was needed. 3 weeks later, he called and said everything went well. The original gears were in great shape and the 2 gear syncronoztion fork was bad. He only replaced that syncro folk and the bearing while the transmission was out. I was a happy camper!

I had the transmission reinstalled with the new Luc clutch and what a difference! Goal #2 met! I feel like Sarge was a video game player and he just got a new life :) The new clutch and rebuilt transmission shift like magic!
