DO I SMELL SMOKE?

The trucks ignition switch wasn't installed in the dash but was just hanging when I bought it. So I picked up the misc pieces from a junkyard to install it in the dash. After I had it all installed I went to start the truck and smoke came out from under the dash. I SHUT IT OFF REAL QUICK, pulled the plug from the ignition and crawled under the dash only to find the ignition wires had been cut at some point and wired back together incorrectly, grounding the ignition to the dash causing the short and melting the harness. :(
