So, this is the Old Lady, my 1988 Chrysler Fifth Avenue. I do have other photos, but they don't meet the minimum size requirements to post here, so what you're seeing is a Florida car that was shipped to my home in Ohio in June of 2020. Up until my purchase, the car has always been registered in Florida. The car currently has a little over 103,000 miles on it and sat for several years garaged before i made the purchase, and you can see some of the work I had done to the engine included the replacement of the coolant hoses, the red ones were the old ones. I also had the fuel pump, oil pump and oil pan gasket replaced.
The car is currently undergoing a front suspension rebuild and conversion to Holley Sniper EFI from the old Chrysler Lean Burn system. That work is now just about complete. The entire exhaust has been replaced, new head gaskets, exhaust manifold gaskets, and valve cover gaskets replaced in an attempt to eliminate any vacuum leaks. Holley Hyperspark Kit Part # 565-304K has been ordered and installed to replace the stock ignition system. The Sniper Unit installed is the 550-866K system with the Holley Die Cast EFI Bypass Fuel Pressure Regulator Kit Part # 12-886KIT to replace the internal fuel pressure regulator.
Currently, the complete fuel system is installed and plumbed, and the new ignition system is installed. The front suspension and steering are just about complete and the car probably, but not guaranteed, will be ready to run the first week of September 2024 after a long 3 year process.
A differential upgrade from the Chrysler 7 1/4 to 8 1/4 is in the plans. The current diff has a 2.2 something gear set and my 8 1/4 possibly has the 2.45, but that will be changed to a 3.21 gear ratio with a limited slip carrier and have the factory leaf springs replaced at the same time. A possible future plan will be upgrading from the 3 speed automatic to a 4 speed unit.
