  • Vehicle Overview

This car is an original Florida car and I bought it in San Diego. The guy who owned the car before the guy I bought it off of absolutely butchered the body and the frame with terrible patches made out of thin sheet metal. He decided to replace the floor but instead of installing a floor pan properly, he threw the new panels on top of the original tunnel and riveted it on and sealed the gaps with hot glue. He also cut a ton of parts out from the underside and did not replace them. The passenger side quarter is original but the driver side quarter most likely had damage and the guy put a new quarter on top of the old one and slapped bondo on top. I didn’t really want to get into the body work on this, so I decided to make the drivetrain and. frame as solid as possible. The old frame was rusty patched garbage, so I got a new frame from Jim’s Chevelle Alley in Ohio. On that I installed tubular control arms in the front and rear as well as a set of QA1 sway bars. The springs are 2” lowering springs from UMI Performance and the shocks are Bilsteins. The rear end is a stock BOP 8.2 10-Bolt but I installed a Yukon Dura-Grip Posi with Yukon 3.73s. The motor is a 6.0 Iron Block LS-Based LQ4 out of a 2500 Silverado. It has new pistons, gapped rings, a BTR NA Stage 2 cam, and a ton of other durability modifications. I’m running a clone of a Holley Sniper EFI Fabricated Intake with a 102mm throttle body being fed by Holley 42lb injectors. The 6.0 is paired with a 4L-80e transmission out of a van. The whole deal is controlled by Holley Terminator X Max which has been nothing short of amazing. This thing runs like a champ and learns all by itself. After the whole rebuild, I have installed 18in Ridler Wheels (18x8 front, 18x9.5 rear) with Nitto NT555G2 Tires all around. I have also retrofitted black leather bucket seats from a W203 C-Class Mercedes-Benz. See this project as well as many others on Kingpin Garage on YouTube as well as Instagram.
