By the time the 4th Generation Charger emerged, emissions regulations and gas crises had a stranglehold on performance. The Charger continued its evolution into a mid-size luxury car. However, two small-blocks and an optional 400 cubic inch big block gave hot rodders the opportunity to release some untapped potential.
