Good System for The JL

Swapping out the PCM on the JL takes patience and a few standard, good tools to get in tight places. Three bolts and two electrical connectors and it’s off. The bolt closest to the front of the Jeep is the toughest to deal with. Moving the air intake hose out of your way will make the swap a lot easier with that one bolt. Your top left hand is going to get cut up if you don’t wear gloves. Superchips needs to improve the pcm mechanical swap out directions for the JL. As far as programming the pcm, follow all the Superchips directions in order and you will get it right the first time. Set up was a breeze and without surprises. Being able to monitor various Jeep vital signs at one time is very useful. Setting up for the 35 inch tire size was spot on and the speedometer is right on the mark according to my gps. I have programmed for 87 octane only so far because that’s what I have in the tank. I don’t plan on using the higher 91 octane tune at the moment. The 87 tune is nice. Good throttle response, good shifts, no issues. I knocked off one star because of the poor intstall instructions. So be patient with the pcm install. Follow the programming directions in order. Works as advertised. Installation is horrible

The product works well. However, the pcm swap is not as easy as the company states, especially for the 2018 Jeep Wrangler Jl. There are videos online that can walk you through a swap out. However the video is for a JK. In the JL. Furthermore, the directions in the video differ than the written directions. The video states to remove the positive lead from the battery. However, the written directions state to remove the negative lead. Furthermore, the video stated a 8 mm wrench is needed to remove bolts. The reality is a 10 mm wrench is needed. Unless you have the hand size of a small child, it is nearly impossible to switch out the pcm unit.

Extra power!

The directions need to be updated and install a little challenging but with the help of Superchips tech support this thing works great and adds a lot of extra power not to mention I was able to calibrate my 40 inch tires and 5:13 gears for my jlu. Easy to use once installed and has tons of great features .
