  • Vehicle Overview

Project MEMO or Max Effort Mach One, is a work in progress currently on a rotisserie while mocking up the rear suspension. The engine will be a 410 Windsor set back almost 2 full inches with AFR 205 heads, Ultimate 1 7/8" stainless headers, Holley Hi Ram multi-port EFI intake with TerminatorX ECU and coil near plug ignition. The cam was custom spec'd by Brent Lykins of Lykins Motorsports to be compatible with the EFI for nice street manners. The front dress on the engine is from a '94/95 GT Mustang sans the air pump. All the other OEM accessories are retained including the 130 amp alternator and OEM rotary style A/C compressor for functional A/C. A stock '69 big block style 24" aluminum radiator uses a dual electric fan assembly from a '95 to '03 Ford Contour. A Mazda/Nissan PWM controller gets an input signal from the Terminator X for a soft start and variable speed operation. The engine sends power back through a Magnum T56 transmission to a 31-spline nodular with 3.64 gears and a Torsen torque sensing differential mounted in a full floating housing. Aluminum coil over shocks are mounted at all 4 corners as are Falken Azenis RT660 P315 tires on Enkei 18 x 10.5" wheels. The front shocks are non adjustable (internal valving) Bilstein units while the rears are AFCO double adjustable (in the event I ever decide to go drag racing). Front discs are Wilwood 12.88 x 1.25 mounted on aluminum hats with Wilwood 6 piston Forged calipers, all bolted to Wilwood spindles with custom rear steer arms that fit inside the massive 18 x 10.5" light weight Enkei wheels. The rear discs are 12 x 0.81 mounted directly to the floating hubs with forged Wilwood 4 piston calipers. The front fenders are carbon fiber from Maier Racing. Although the giant P315s would actually fit in the stock front steel fenders by rolling the lip and just 2 degrees negative camber, the carbon fiber fenders help reduce front end weight to improve front/rear weight bias. The fiberglass hood sports a pair of wind tunnel tested vents from Race Louvers. A rack and pinion pirated from a GM J-car pairs nicely with the Ford C2 pump for excellent feel and feedback. This will be a real street car with A/C, a state of the art Kenwood double DIN stereo and a completely finished interior (albeit with rear seat delete). The pictures were taken in '09 and '10 with much of the same front suspension but a 715 annular Holley carb instead of EFI, a Tremec 5 speed, '04 17 x 8 Ford Mach 1 wheels up front and 17 x 9.5 knock off Mach 1 rear wheels with P275s.
