  • Vehicle Overview

2001 LS, ported heads, custom grind cam. Hotchkis suspension front and rear. C5 brake spindals. 12 bolt 4.10, T-56 Purchased in high school, 1993 for $1000. Didn’t run. After finding an intake leak and quick repair, beat on it for another year before starting a tear down. Left for the service in 96. Came back in 02 to find my uncle sold the engine and trans on me. I was in disgust over that and the amount of bird and other animals !#!%%!!? on/in it, so I left it for a while longer. Couple of years later I figured I’d start cleaning it up for metal replacement and saving for parts. Three kids, wife’s cancer, my immune system trying to kill me and economy put another stop to it. 2014 started working on it when I could. Found a very cheap T-56, rebuilt that. Found A crashed C5 and low mileage engine and had the heads ported by Goodwin Competition which had a custom grind Howard’s cam cut at Competition Products. Body pump was finally completed November 2019. Had my son, 13 at the time help with demo and build up. Now, just save up, buy more parts.

    Future Plans

I plan on using Holley Terminator X to control my engine with Holley Headers and a sniper fuel system. Vintage Air will be used , Kwik Wire for the front and rear body harness. I need to change the oil pan out to a Holley 302-2 because the GM muscle car pan hangs way to low. I plan on a pearl white interior. That and somehow put my kids through college.

Hang in there! I’ve had mine 18 years and 14 of those years the care was tore apart! Glad to see your son turning wrenches!
