Vehicle Overview

My tribute to Zora. I started this build in July 2015 and I’m finally getting shakedown miles on it now. It is still minus the SS window molding, and upper trim on the side exhaust cover. Should be all correct over the coming weeks. It is a full frame off build. It started as an original black-on-black base engine coupe with factory AC. My vision was based on the question to myself, “what would Zora do in ’67 with the parts available to him”? I built a 427 based on the ZL1 GM performance race parts block 12370850. The NHRA approved GM performance pasts L88 heads 19331427, Nostalgia ZL1 CAM from Comp Cams, Winters ZL1 / L88 GM dual plane intake, IKON forged pistons, NOS Forged / Nitride GM crank, Eagle I-beam rods, Holley 850 Track Warrior carb, Stahl headers with 3.5” side pipes. Added Silver Sport TKO600 trans, Duntov Motors race 3.55 differential, half shafts, spindles, steering, and Duntov signature calipers (Wilwood aluminum) and rotors, and many other parts. Had the original frame straightened, fully seam welded, de-rusted, and powder coated. Body was completely striped. There were enough old repairs on the right front corner that I opted to replace the front clip from Sermersheim’s. Also added the L88 hood (cool air induction), also from Sermersheim’s. My goal was to make it look period correct, but I did add wide band O2’s and MSD 6AL2 programable ignition. But all of that is hidden and not visible in the engine compartment. Restored the factory AC system, but I added a Sanden compressor and updated condenser so I can use R134, but everything else is factory correct parts of the system. Running AR torque thrust D’s wrapped Avon CR6ZZ Vintage road racing radials (225-65R15s).
