Vehicle Overview
Bought new by my grandparents in 1986 in Hereford, Texas as a daily for my uncle who turned 16 that year. He drove the truck through college in Oklahoma and eventually blew the original 305 at about 100,000 miles. Since then he swapped in a 350 and picked himself out a new Holley Quadra Jet Rochester 750. Turns out robbers like Rochesters where they broke into the storage facility, broke the quarter window, popped the hood, cut any fuel lines, vacuum line, and throttle cable to the carb, removed it from the intake and were gone. They were caught by Edmond Police and was used as evidence. One the police were done with the carburetor and air cleaner, they gave it back to my uncle who just put it on top of the intake and left it for 17 years without even seeing it. Meanwhile I need myself a project car, so my dad, his dad, and I drove to Edmond, drug it out of Oklahoma and back home to Texas. (perfect for a 13 year old)
Future Plans
For now get it going with a new Holley Carburetor. But later I want to build the 350 (Maybe even do a stroker kit). As if a guy walked into the local GMC Dealership, ordered a new 1986 Sierra Classic, and asked for a custom built 350 he had to be used instead of a 305/350.
