The successor to the Blazer debuted in 2002. The Trailblazer was built upon the GMT360 architecture and featured the Atlas 4.2L straight-6 as the standard engine. However, it could be optioned with an LS-based 5.3L V8, while the SS received a 6.0L LS2 that pumped out 400 horsepower to either the rear wheels, or all four with an optional all-wheel drive system.
