  • Vehicle Overview

Bought the car in June '18 in Mauston, WI. Had it shipped home to Cape Coral, FL. Drove it for 2 months then decided to put it up on blocks for a thorough "clean-up". I'm really enjoying working on it in my air-conditioned garage that is waaaaay too small.! I need a lift but don't have the ceiling height to accommodate it. Stopped short of a frame-off restoration. So far I've had the door panels off, replaced all wiring harnesses, vacuum lines & went to LEDs all around. The windshield is out, allowing easy access to the cockpit panels. Cleaned up all gauges, new quartz clock, new dash pad, heat shield all around. I'm now getting ready to wrap headers & exhaust w/Titanium 2" wrap. This car had an engine overhaul 3,000 miles ago, along w/the 4-speed transmission. This 427 has been bored & stroked. The body & paint is in good condition, frame is excellent, no rust. The birdcage had 3 1" oval-shaped holes in it...had it welded & is looking like new. Used lots of POR 15 on many areas after clean-up. The more I look, the more I find...have to stop that & get it out for a drive. I miss the sound of that engine! Eventually I'd like to go back to side pipes that it originally had from the factory. Oh, did I mention the factory A/C that cools it down nicely? I'd, someday, like to replace the blower motor in order to push more air, but that will have to wait for another day. It's time to get it out & drive it! Looks like I may have to wait for Dorian to pass.
