I have a new engine that has not been fired. Can I install this on a fresh engine or should I do the break in with a carburetor?

Breaking in a fresh engine build with a Sniper EFI TBI system is completely acceptable.

Question
Will this efi work on a LS 5.3 while using a MSD 6LS ignition system? I am currently running a edelbrock performer carb intake with 650 double pumper and a MSD 6LS ignition on a stock LM7 5.3 truck engine. Wondering if this will run correctly without having control over timing since ignition and fuel would be separate systems. Looking at this kit over the terminator systems because of price. Not looking to make a ton of power just a reliable cruiser.

I absolutely love it. The kit is great had all the parts that I needed for a quick and simple install of the system. I will be upgrading some of my other trucks with the sniper here in the next couple of months. The system works great at -40°F started every time!

Purchase the master kit for Windsor 408. Everything needed was supplied I only had to purchase one fitting for my temperature sensor but other than that everything was there. I was impressed with the quality and how easy it was to install. Took about one day from start to finish with looks of breaks in. Between. Easy to set up would buy again.

Sniper on 69 Olds 350

Used the Sniper Master Kit on my 69 Olds Cutlass 350. Worked out great, easy instructions everything I needed was in the kit. Only thing I did different from the kit was I ran steal fuel lines instead of just using the fuel hose provided in the kit. Car runs fantastic, no cold starting issues, notably more power and response. Have recommended it to several other car enthusiasts. Very fair price and would purchase again.

I have used OEM EFI on motors, and competitors after market EFI systems; but nothing can compare to the ease of installation of the Sniper system. I am very impressed with how complete the kit is and how close the wire and hose lengths were to what I needed. After installation I had very little waste. Only small issues with installation were that I had to convert the C6 transmission kick down to a Lokar cable and the 351M/C motors use a unique fuel pump mounting so I had to order a different block off plate. For those of us used to working on Fords this is normal. System went on quickly and fired right up and idled after the short setup. Truck runs better than it ever has and starts cold like a new car. Idle adjusts automatically for cold start and AC compressor. I love the new “Carburator Gold” color to keep a little of the nostalgic look! All in all very happy and will use on other projects. This changes the game and takes the worry and planning out of EFI on older vehicles or motor swaps on a budget. Have recommended to others in my club.

Sniper EFI on brand new 383 in 1965 Satellite

I have had this car since 1972. It was a Chrysler Engineer car and upgraded with Road Runner suspension and factory traction bars. It is a console 4 speed car with a Richmond 430 posi in the rear. All is original except the trans. It is a slip yoke from a Road Runner. I saw the demo of the Sniper into a 67 Camaro and saw it was a 4 speed also. I decided to get away from dual quads and choke problems in different climates or seasons. Since everything is brand new on my car, I dropped the tank and installed a stainless return line. The installation was very simple, 4 wires. One each to battery pos and neg, one to the switched ignition and one to neg of coil. I am happy to say that even though I have a large cam and Pro Form electronic distributor, Yesterday, I turned the key and the car fired immediately. It idled and started to learn. Now to break it all in. Well worth the money considering the cost of multiple carbs and tuning them. Paul aka DOCMOPAR

This is one of the best purchases I could have made. Sniper is very easy to install and Holley provides detailed instructions on how to install it. My truck start every time I go to start it. I am hoping to install this on my 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 as well.

Sniper on Buick 350 is awesome

Installation was easy. Had a little more to do since I had to replace a leaky fuel tank. I took that opportunity to get one one with an in tank pump for EFI and ran new stainless steel fuel lines instead of using the supplied hose. The hardest part of the Sniper install was neatly bundling the wires. The quick install instructions are easy to follow and the setup for the engine was amazingly simple. After programming and cycling the ignition the engine started on the first revolution. The only adjustment I had to make was for idle as the mechanical stop had the throttle open to about 1600 rpm. Once adjusted for proper IAC engine dropped into a perfect idle. Since I replaced a 2bbl Rochester with the 4bbl Sniper and a stage 1 intake manifold from TA Performance, I expected not only the EFI convenience and reliability, I expected a slight increase in performance. I was wrong. I got a LOT of increase in performance. Suddenly there was a beast under the hood. I am having a hard time not mashing the skinny pedal and keeping that silly grin off my face. At present I have just been letting the Sniper auto-tune itself and it seems to be doing fine as fuel mileage has been increasing, temperatures are stable and it just feels smoother and smoother.
