Attached using clear double sided tape. The double sided tape is used to reduce weight and any part that is higher than 7mm from the helmet shell must break away during an impact. This part can be painted. Low profile design should not create any clearance issues for drivers. Offers better air flow since the air flows over the top of the shell instead of underneath in between the liner and shell.
