Worth the price!

I’ve had this on the truck for about a month. After upgrading to 35” tires gas mileage, performance were suffering badly. After putting the pulsar on power is up, the mileage is up significantly, the truck is much more fun to drive, and the speedo is right again. Out of the 4 modes tow seems to work best for me, but is fun to turn it up to performance every now and then. Install was very easy and strait forward.

I haven't got to drive the truck much more than a hundred miles or I might have given five stars. I do like the ease of changing the settings on the fly but haven't had enough time to make a decision on the performance or mileage gains. I am not going to make a claim that I can't verify yet.

The system works very well with my tuck, I really like the shift on the fly to change settings. Made a biff difference on towing and in ECO mode my MPG went from 17.5 to 19.5

Bought a Pulsar for my 17 Ram 1500 and ever since I’ve had problems with the cruise control working half the time and the auto- down on my driver side window. Didn’t realize that for $550 it didn’t come with the update cable that several customers claim fixed some of their problems as well as added some extra features. I’ve bought 4 Superchips in the last decade and I’ve been very happy with the performance and I will be super happy once these minor issues are ironed out.

Hi. I install the pulsar 32453 on the 2019 ram 1500 8-speed New body, and has a problem of ignition. It takes time to turn on. Turn on the check engine. I already updated the software and the problem persists. now remove the pulsar of the truck and everything is working fine What can I do to solve the problem?

Very pleased with the quick response and added torque. Makes driving more fun. Set it on performance and haven’t changed it. Love it, but have to be light footed on starting or you will spin a tire. Gas mileage average is 1/2 mile less per gallon than stock on first tank of gas.

i bought this 3 months ago and tested it out on a 3000 mile trip across the US for my job. This unit set off a check engine light and/or put it into limp mode everyday. This item is useless if you want to use wide open throttle ever example highway merge at 70 stomped to 80 mph posted speed. Biggest waste of money huge disappointment

I bought this mostly for the Economy mode. I drive a lot and was hoping for .5 to 1.0 mpg on the highway. Instead i got a decrease of 2 mpg. I actually get the best highway economy (still only 15.2mpg) in performance mode. It seems the only thing this is good for is to burn your tires in performance mode. And that only seems the throttle is remapped so that 1% throttle pedal is 90% throttle request. Actually makes it hard to drive when 1/4 inch pedal travel spins the tires. Even in stock mode fuel economy is about 2mpg lower. Very dissatisfied and disappointed with my purchase. It gets 2 stars because 1: the ease of controlling the modes on the fly via steering wheel controls is the only way to go! And 2: performance mode does work. I have driven nearly 2k miles with this installed and checked mileage via odometer. Not just going by the cluster display (which are within .3mpg)

Power, sensitivity, and in eco mode im getting 23 mpg with a hemi on 37s hahahahaha who needs a prius. 450hp 4x4 getting 20plus mpg and then when you want the power just tap a few buttons and peel them tires off. Love it

This programmer is amazing and I would buy it again and again! Purchased about a month ago and I love the ease of use and the Econ (23 mpg) and Tow (pass everything but a gas station) modes. The Performance mode leaves a little to be desired: I've only run 93 since I purchased the truck and I have a CA intake and cat back exhaust. If you floor the right pedal, it bogs down the engine, but if you stay around 3/4 foot travel she'll definitely move. Definitely going to be getting a custom tune when that option is available!

I bought this almost a month ago and was sceptical at first. The install wasn't to bad except the cable levers on the PCM aren't as easy to remove as in the video, they stuck and took a lot of gentle manipulation to get them to release. At first I didn't notice much improvement until I put 91 octane in. I have a 6 inch lift and 35" tires, flowmaster exhaust and k&n cold air intake on my 2018 Ram 1500 Crew Cab short bed. In performance mode it now chirps the tires and the exhaust sounds deeper. My only complaint is the gas pedal is very touchy coming from a stop at a light, almost too responsive. I also have not seen a difference in fuel economy while in Eco mode, even with higher octane fuel. Additionally I can't seem to register the product because I can't find it on the product list. Plus no cable to do the upgrade, which is recommended out of the box per the installation instructions. I hope the future programming allows for customization for bolt on items like air intake and exhaust like the video says are coming.

After having this on my 2018 Ram for about a week now, I can say I thoroughly enjoy the kick in the pants that the performance mode gives the truck. It's a bit touchy to be used as an everyday option but it's fun to use when you need the extra "go". I keep it in tow mode for a middle ground between stock and performance. A lot more "drivability" there. I am however quite a bit disappointed in the MDS off modes. It doesn't actually turn it off. Instead it kicks it off as soon as it turns on, and continues to do so over and over and over. So, you are left with a constantly repeating surge cycle of on/off. This was my main reason for purchasing and I still have to manually put it into "8" on the gear selector to keep the MDS off. I know there's only so much a piggyback system can do and in the future I believe they will fix this with an update. Overall I am very impressed and if you want to squeeze a few extra ponies out of your Hemi, I say go for it.

Before purchase, I read several reviews and did online research. Some reviews were good and some bad, but I decided to try The Pulsar anyway. I have had it on my truck for a month and I have had no issues what so ever and it does exactly what I thought it would. The biggest surprise is my favorite mode of use is the Economy, once at highway speeds the truck performs better than stock under the same conditions ( it is lazier from a stand still, than stock, but I expected that) and have gotten over 25 mpg on WV. secondary roads (55 mph) I think this is a great product. But keep your expectations reasonable, your not going to break speed records, but you will enjoy your ride a lot more !

Best Modification Ever Done to my Ram 1500

I was very skeptical about adding this to my truck, especially because my dad was borrowing it the next day to pick up his new camper that was 700 miles away in Ohio, but I figured it’d help him with towing through the mountains of Pennsylvania. 2 hours into his ride out to get the camper he called me saying how awesome the power was, keep in mind he was still in New York, and he wasn’t even towing anything yet! He said at 70 mph he could just tap the gas and the truck would pull like a sports car, and he was only in Tow tune with MDS off! Now that I’ve been driving it, I am blown away at the performance of the Pulsar! I usually drive in Tow Mode MDS off, but I also use Eco MDS off, and Stock MDS off quite a bit! I’ve thrown it in Performance MDS off a few times on 91 octane, but I usually save that for long straightaways! Best money I’ve spent on my truck!

Bought this about two months ago and couldn't be happier. The program change on the fly is very convenient, and the performance mode really wakes up the engine. Got it mainly for the economy and to turn MDS off, so running it mainly there. It has improved gas mileage.

Bought for my 2016 RAM 1500 and it worked fine for the first few hours but then truck starting surging and throwing some codes. Had to remove and clear codes. Was informed that they have been experiencing this issue with some RAMS. Would have been a great product if worked as advertised. Had to return so now I'm out $25 for shipping.

Had it in my 2017 Ram 1500 for about 2 weeks now. Love the 8 eng modes. Initially had an eng light come on, no issues with the truck and eng light cleared itself after 2 days.

I bought it for 2016 ram Hemi then traded two weeks later and it won’t work on 2018! Caused trucks to go in limp mode and not crank in pouring rain . when it’s advertised to work in 2015 to 2018 ans causes these problems it a shame . If more is required then it should be clearly stated when purchased ! Screw this fake front that is sold

A little pricy for what it does but wow what a difference in power in performance mode. In eco mode I’m gaining 4 MPG. In tow mode; I towed 2k LBS for 800 miles and Still was getting 15-16 MpG and the extra power it puts out is amazing

The Pulsar was the last of three upgrades on my 2017 Ram 1500 Limited. Started with AFE Momentous CAI. Followed up with Borla Touring Exhaust. After installing the Pulsar, I concluded my stock PCM was having difficulty adjusting to the mods. Although my MPG increased buy 2 MPGs, the performance was sluggish. After installing the Pulsar everything came together. The Performance with MDS off really wakes up the HEMI. It is extremely responsive and quick of the start. The gear change is perfectly timed resulting in much better performance. Definitely a different vehicle in this mode. The economy mode with MDS off is also great for cruising around town. After one day, I’ve gain an additional 1 MPG. Even in this mode, the Hemi is more responsive with very smooth gear changes, but calls the horses if you punch it. Loving the Pulsar and my Hemi Truck!

I installed my Pulsar, idled out of my garage... put it on setting 5 and gave my normal amount of gas... the tires broke loose and spun! The change in pedal response was incredible. My Hemi has been transformed from a mediocre pickup truck to a responsive stallion that's fun to drive!! I haven't noticed an increase in fuel efficiency because I've been enjoying the way my truck behaves when I give it the gas... maybe after I've had my fill of this setting i'll put it on "economy" and see what I get in the line of fuel savings, for now... I prefer the response than the economy.

I bought the Pulsar for my 2018 RAM Sport. Not only is it a great product but it is also very easy to install and use! The throttle response in performance mode is incredible. It changes your stock RAM into a Performance BEAST within 30 minutes!

I bought the pulsar with the intent to get better fuel mileage and a little boost in power for my 2016 ram 1500 and it does just that. I'm able to switch from economy mode to performance within seconds while driving when I want a little more power. Great product, nice packaging, arrived fairly quick. I recomend the edge pulsar to anyone that wants a little extra out of there truck for a good price.

Great features, but triggered my check engine ligh

I have had the Pulsar on my 2017 Ram 1500 for about a month. After a couple of weeks and maybe ~400 miles, the check engine light came on with a message stating: "service the electronic throttle control system." I subsequently unhooked the battery and left it unhooked for about 30 minutes. When I reattached the battery, the service message was cleared, however, the check engine light stayed on for about 10 or so miles, then the light turned off. It's been fine for about a week without any issues. I hope this isn't something that continues to happen since this product was not exactly cheap. Otherwise, the product does exactly what I wanted. With my custom exhaust, I hated MDS, and this product seems to keep MDS from kicking on just fine.

I own a dodge magnum and use the trinity tuner from diablo sport. Rather than buying an unlock pcm and tuner I went with the pulsar on my 2017 ram 1500. It's really easy to install and use. Please advice from avid tuning lerson... this is a basic tune option. If you want custom or 3rd party tuning do the unlocked pcm and trinity tuner. Overall This is a great option to have some get up in a stock truck. I'm happy with it!

This product made my Ram 1500 drive like a beast. The throttle response on Performance mode is amazing, completely changes the personality of the truck. My favorite part is how it integrates seamlessly into the truck's computer system allowing you to change driving performance profiles at the push of a button and the in dash display like modern sports vehicles. Installation is especially easy. Best part is you can deactivate MDS! Wish I would have found this earlier!

I was getting 12.4 mpg highway in my 2015 5.7 Ram w 8 speed trans and 34 inch tires. I now average 14.6 running in economy mode. That doesn’t seem like much but it’s about a 15% improvement which is much more than I expected. I still think the price should come down because it lacks features that other tuners have at around the same price range. But the performance mode is fun and it was nice to be able to program my tire size to fix my speedometer.

My 2017 Ram 1500 5.7 liter has a hard time finding the right gears...in any of the modes. Ive uninstalled this product and my truck performs as it should. My transmission has returned to normal.

Guys I have had just about every tuner/ programer on the market since 2005. Some were great ,some did ok job. Let me tell this. Pulsar far exceeded my expectations.The one touch feature eliminates the old hand held plug in every time you want to change tune.Change on the fly. Believe me you will have so much fun with Pulsar. It also unleashed more H/P than the previous tuners i have tried on my current truck 2017 Ram 1500.

There is no doubt that it changes the throttle responce and sensitivity on the Ram Hemi. In Performance it easily breaks the tires loose. I didn’t notice a gas mileage improvement at 70mph between stock, and economy and performance mode. They all faired about 17mpg. I also have 22” rims so that could swing it a bit. Over all, not bad.

The installation was simple as simple can be, although I had to take off my s&b air intake to have room to install. The programming took 5 minutes inside the truck, found a YouTube video to walk through how to do it. Noticeable difference between all the settings. Have been running in performance on the daily, and running 91 to 93 octane like recommended, and my gas mileage went from 16mpg to 19mpg and uts still climbing. I would definitely recommend this to anyone thinking about it and wondering if it works or if it's worth it, yes it works and yes it's worth it.

Select power on the fly

I bought my Pulsar about a month ago and the power gain is very noticeable on all 8 power levels. If you have it on 8 you better hang on because the throttle response is immediate and even with the traction control on it will break the tires loose and you have to go light on the pedal or it will jerk you around . For around town driving I prefer level 5 or 6 because i still get good power gain but it is much smoother going from a full stop and going through the gears. On the open road i selected power level 3 and got 22 miles to the gallon going from Phoenix to Los Angeles. The unit is very easy to install, 10 minutes max. The only gripe i have is that it doesn't allow you to remove the speed governor of 110 miles per hour like a hand held unit allows you to. So you're going to get to 110 mph in neck breaking speed and that's it. Wish it had a speed governor disable. Other than that it works flawlessly.

WIfe and absolutely love this mod! The fact you can change "tunes" from the steering wheel controls is amazing! Icy out, change from performance to economy and throttle response is toned down making it easier to drive. Cant say enough good things about this unit! Cant wait for true performance tunes are offered to accommodate the CAI and CAT back exhaust already done to her 2017.

After installing the Pulsar on a 2017 Ram 1500 the response to the gas pedal being pushed was vastly improved. Also being able to disable the MDS is a great feature. Installation takes about 15 mins with a 10mm socket and wrench.

Installed the PULSAER 2017 RAM REBEL 5.7 HEMI, Really very easy, Works Great. The on the fly switching for the different mode is great. Need to add a govener control, open up the top end. I know that this is possable with other programers. No Truck Racing.

Plug and play at its simplest. Combined with K&N Cold Air Intake on my 5.7 Hemi Ram. Smoked a 5.0 Mustang, Camaro and a Range Rover Sport....so far....lol. Forget thenew heads, Cam, etc. For less than $1,000 and under 1hr, I have a daily driver that will boil the tires with traction control disengaged.

First the truck: 2016 Ram 1500 w/ 4” lift and 35” tires, K&N cold air intake and MBRP cat back exhaust. This has very easy installation and I’ve had no connection or control problems. I have not dyno’d the truck so I don’t have numbers to back up my statements only my perception. After several weeks of testing, trying different octane gas and taking a 2500 mile cross country trip I’ve come to the belief that the power this product produces is illusion. I believe all this does is change the gas pedal sensitivity. I have seen no improvement in MPG in economy mode either on the highway or in town but it certainly makes the fuel pedal less responsive. Tow mode is fun, very snappy pedal response but I wouldn’t say that it seems like there is actually any more power, it just reacts faster to pressing the pedal. “Performance mode” is something else. As far as I can tell it’s completly unusable unless you are drag racing or trying to rear end someone. The pedal response is immediate 5% press of the pedal is equal to 95% in stock, but it’s uncontrollable and unusable in any normal driving situation other than a completely open dry road. All in all, based on my experience, there is no indication of this being at all more efficient than the stock tuning. I believe the are much less expensive ways to get faster response from the gas pedal. It is not worth the cost in my opinion and I regret the purchase.

I bought this item about a month ago, and install was a breeze. Instantly what stands out is throttle response and then once you drive it for a few days and play around with the performance mode you can really notice the power gain. If this product was $100 cheaper, and you had the option of erasing your speed governor I would have given this product 5 stars.

Great product instant difference

Today I installed this product wasn't really expecting too much hp gain or throttle response. I was wrong I noticed an instant difference this is an amazing product. The only issue is that you have to mess with those PCM cables. They are Fragile and not as easy as the YouTube videos show. I didn't want to break anything so I took it to a tuner shop down the road and they knocked it out on 15 mins. 1500 Ram Sport 5.7 hemi

Installation on my ram was pretty straightforward and simple. Programming was simple. I was able to change my tire size since I have 37s. I took it down the road to see if the speedometer was reading proper and it now matches Google maps. And the performance aspect is immediately noticeable. Just A feather light touch to my pedal and it responds instantly. I am more than impressed with this product as I have used other products in the past and I have always been disappointed or not noticed a difference. Thank you so much for building a great product.
