MoParty 2021 Autocross and Grand Champion is heating up, literally. The field consists of an eclectic variety of cars with a wide range of power and upgrades. There's the freshly built Gen-III HEMI-swapped and rust-filled ‘Cuda, a late-model Challenger with a fiberglass body, and a Hellcat-swapped 1970 Challenger. Something for every taste and budget was lined up and waiting for their next lap.

Simplicity and reliability are vital in vintage auto crossing. Most vintage competitors still retain leaf-spring suspension and mild N/A drivetrains. You don't need high revs or more than a few hundred horses to have fun on the track.

Kurt Chenoweth was one of the first competitors at Beech Bend in his '70 Challenger, which features a 440ci with a 727 automatic. It's a mild setup with a stock bottom end and Edelbrock aluminum heads. The car features a matte clear to keep the patina intact. He autocrosses heavily at home, and the vehicle has been handling well during the autocross event thus far.

David Kruk's bright yellow '70 Coronet Super Bee was an unsuspecting competitor with the drivetrain stolen from a '17 Challenger Scat Pack. The 6.4L and 8-speed auto are made for quick and reliable laps. It's a fresh build with a host of Holley swap components.

However, not all played by the rules of simplicity, as Greg Huizenga's 1975 Jeep Wagoneer sits on a Chevrolet C10 chassis and is swapped with a Gen-III 5.7L Hemi and compound turbos. "It allows us to be responsive on the autocross but still make big power when we want to turn it up," said Greg. The unique sound of thrusting air blasting from the FSJ echoes across the cone-filled track.

Those competing in Grand Champion must race in autocross, drag racing, and the 3S Challenge through the weekend. They have their own rules and are broken into three classes: Late Model, Vintage, and Truck. Thus far, the weekend has been exciting racing with competitors making fast, back-to-back hot runs on Friday.

Feature: Mitch Lelito's Challenger T/A Clone

There was no missing this bright orange streak out on the autocross. Mitch Lelito's 1972 Challenger Rallye-turned-1970 Challenger T/A is one of the most wicked corner carvers to blast through the cones at Holley MoParty!
