Beginning life as an option for the Buick Special, the Skylark trim package was popular enough to merit its own model beginning in 1964. Sitting on GM's A-Body architecture, the base engine was a 225 cubic inch V6 with two versions of Buick's 300 cubic inch V8 were optional.
