In 1953, Chevrolet launched what would become its most iconic, longest-running, and some might say most important vehicle of all-time. The C1 was the only Corvette to be equipped with a solid rear axle and a 6-cylinder engine, but the Chevy small block V8 arrived in 1955 to form a union that runs to this day.
