1982-1992 Pontiac Firebird - LS Swap

The 3rd Generation Firebird was designed with an emphasis on efficiency following two fuel crises. The Firebird shed a significant amount of weight and featured one of the most aerodynamic shapes in production at the time. While the efficiency target was a success, these design choices made for a great performer as technology advanced, and horsepower didn't have to come at the sacrifice of efficiency. You can double down on these design advantages by using one of our Gen III/IV LS swap systems.

Step 1: Engine and Transmission Mounts

  • Engine Mounts fit all GM LS Engines
  • Transmission Crossmember has Torque Link Mount - So you can use Most Normal GM Style Transmissions (that don't have the Torque Link Mounting Bracket)
  • Transmission Options: T56, T56 Magnum, 4L60E, 4L65E, 4L70E, 4L80E, 4L85E, 200R4, and TH400
  • Some Transmissions Use Special Crossmember Adapter - Available Separately

Step 2: Oil Pans

  • Factory oil pans don't fit or they hang too low on engine swaps
  • Engine swap oil pans provide maximum clearance to the chassis and ground
  • OE (Original Equipment) style fitment for durability, strength, and proper sealing
  • Choose from natural aluminum casting, carbon black ceramic finish, or fabricated sheetmetal depending on the application
  • Complete kit with sump baffle, OE style pickup, drain plug, oil filter stud, and oil passage cover

Step 3: Exhaust Systems

  • Upgrade Your In-Tank Fuel Pump to Handle the Additional Power of the LS Engine
  • Fit Inside Stock Fuel Tank
  • Includes Fuel Pump, Fuel Level Sending Unit that Works with the Factory Fuel Gauge
