AEM Releases V2.96 Software Update for Infinity Programmable ECU Now Available!

October 14th, 2014, Hawthorne, CA - AEM has released its Version 96 (v2.96) software update for its Infinity ECU platform. This upgrade delivers several new and enhanced features to the recently released v95 version of InfinityTuner software, including new vehicle/supported applications, simplified Drive-By-Wire setup and updated 3-Step rev limiter that incorporates ground speed vs. gear. Complete V2.96 enhancements include:

NEW SUPPORTED VEHICLE/APPLICATIONS:

• 2007-2009 Porsche 997.1 Turbo
• 2001-2005 Porsche 996 Turbo
• 2002-2005 MKIV VW 1.8T DBW
• Mazda Rotary 13B/20B

MORE FLEXIBILITY:

• Added new features to oil pressure protection algorithm

1.Allows for rev limit to prevent engine damage

• Added more functionality to 3Step algorithm

1.Added gear based spark cut in addition to vehicle speed

• Added load and vehicle speed criteria to USB logging activation
• Added hysteresis to USB logging shut down
• Drive by wire algorithm changed

1.More PID tuning flexibility eases tuning of new or unknown DBW throttles with engine off to ignore tracking errors

2.Employs a rev limiter instead of a 100% engine cut when DBW errors are detected

• Added support for table columns rows feature

1.Added ability to add columns to VE tables 1 and 2 (from 20x20 up to 20x25), and remove, then re add columns to all 2D and 3D tables

• New semi-sequential fueling strategy features for Infinity-6/8H and Infinity-8/10

1.Provides the ability to run certain engines without a cam sensor, for instance a 36-2 crank signal with no cam signal

NEW INFINITYTUNER SOFTWARE FEATURES:

• Users can now add a Session ID string to their files

1.This is stored on the ECU and can be a unique identifier for the calibration that is separate from the session

2.Users can now input a file name that is saved on the ECU and appears in the InfinityTuner window

• Plot Control move plot cursor function is now mapped to [Left]/[Right] arrow keys
• Values for tables and graphs now display values that have not been committed using a new color added to the theme

1.Cells that have been modified and not yet committed are identified by user selectable colors

2.For tables, the modification is displayed as the color in the border of the cell

3.The axes are also displayed as modified for tables

• Option added to hide 3D graph background grid
• Users can right click on either axis to bring up a menu to change colors or number formatting

1.For 1d and 2d tables

• Users can add control windows to the layout file by right clicking on the background window
• The legend in the 3D graph is now placed in the top right corner

1.Only the 'cell' data is used for the legend rather than the computed real/interpolated values

SETUP WIZARD CHANGES:

• New setup page features added to support lambda feedback functionality on Lambda3 and Lambda4 analog input for all Infinity ECUs

1.Can add up to two external Lambda inputs from a gauge or inline controller for feedback control in all Infinity ECUs. NOTE: All Infinity ECUs can use up to two (2) Lambda signals for feeback in any combination of external or internal controllers

• New look and feel for Input/Output setup

1.Tabs added to make interface more intuitive

• Simplified layout of Drive-by-Wire setup page

GENERAL:

• Various Bug fixes for improved stability

V2.96 (V96) PRECAUTIONS:

1. The upgrade process should carry over all ignition sync settings, however AEM recommends that the user verify this with a timing light prior to operating the engine under load.
