It is easy to think that you're on the receiving end of a prank call when you are being told that you have won a sweepstakes that comes with a prize that has the caliber of Holley's latest sweepstakes. Be honest: if you had someone call you up out of the blue and tell you that you had won a Prestige Motorsports-built engine that was pushing out over a thousand horsepower, chances are good that "disbelief" would be the understatement of the year. As our winner, Kelby Case, admitted to us, "When I first got the call from the Holley representative, I thought it was someone joking, or trying to scam me."
Happily, Case resisted the urge to put a scammer in their place and followed through, because this was no scam. He had entered the 1000+ HP 632 Big Block Chevy Sweepstakes on a whim..."I love Holley products, and I had seen the sweepstakes, so I figured, 'Why not?'"...and he had a home for the engine ready to go, his 1970 Chevrolet Nova racing car being the perfect place for such a stout mill. Or maybe not - as he told us, "I'm considering putting that best in [the Nova] but I would really like to find another classic to fix up for it. Preferrably another Nova, or maybe a Camaro. I'm not sure just yet."
Decisions, decisions. But for now, the Nova will probably get the engine first. Whatever the case, Kelby is over the moon to be the winner of the engine. Featuring a World Products block, ARP hardware, a Stef's Fabrication oil pan, an Innovators West balancer, SCAT crankshaft and rods, RaceTec pistons and rings, AFR cylinder heads, a Comp Cams camshaft, T&D lifters, AFR valvetrain, AFR valve covers, an AFR intake manifold, and capped off with Holley EFI fuel and ignition systems, it's a lot of beef, a full 10.35 liters of grunt. We have no doubt in our minds that Kelby is happy to give this engine a new home!
