LS Fest West Feature – Guillermo Moeller’s Parking Lot C5 Upgrade

Some guys show up to LS Fest with years of preparation, polished wheels, and tuned suspension. Others roll in with something to prove—and a trunk full of tools. Guillermo Moeller? Well, he rolled in with both.

Guillermo bought his 2002 C5 Z06 in January with a simple plan: build content and test parts for his growing YouTube channel @GuillermoMoellerMX. LS Fest was ground zero for the experiment.

And while many competitors were chasing tenths of a second on the autocross track, Guillermo and his crew were turning wrenches between laps, aiming to improve real-time performance with bolt-on upgrades.

Their Grand Champion weekend started with baseline runs on the autocross and drag strip. Then came the upgrades: an MSD Atomic Airforce intake manifold, MSD Pro Power coils, and ACCEL ceramic spark plug wires, a DiabloSport Trinity Tuner —plus Simpson Racing harnesses for a bit of added safety.

It sounds simple enough, but it is harder to execute in the Nevada sun. Unfortunately, they encountered an issue. The MSD intake required an LS3-style fuel rail… but the team only had an LS6 version. Thankfully, help came in the form of a friend and local shop owner, Luis Miguel Perez of Velocity Customs. He cracked open a crate engine, pulled the correct fuel rails, and hand-delivered them trackside—true LS Fest camaraderie in action.

"We were ready to go except for that one piece," Guillermo said. "Miguel really saved the day."

With the installation finished, Guillermo took the Corvette on the highway to run a few heat cycles before diving back into competition. Even without a full dyno tune, the difference was clear.

"On the long stretch of the autocross," Guillermo said, "the car really opened up. The full throttle felt way more responsive. It was looser, freer, and just… better."

He was only able to make a couple of morning runs and one autocross run in the afternoon after the install, but amazingly shaved almost four seconds off his time (59.714 to 55.987).

He and the car ripped through the Grand Champion events, and while he wasn't chasing trophies, the goal was met: prove that simple bolt-ons and smart tuning can make a difference.

What's Next?

There's more in store for the team. A Baer Brakes upgrade kit is already on the shelf, waiting for a proper break-in cycle back at the shop. Once that's dialed, Guillermo has his eyes set on LS Fest Texas—and maybe even Kentucky. "Oh yeah, I'll be back," he said. "This is just the beginning."

Guillermo is owner/operator of Performance Customs, a Holley distributor in northern Mexico, and also wrenches on his own projects out of a garage in Texas. LS Fest West was never about perfection—it was about participation, experimentation, and the kind of real-world, hands-on testing that separates builders from buyers.

Guillermo's journey at LS Fest West is a reminder that you don't need a six-figure build or a trailer queen to make an impact. Sometimes, all it takes is a basic game plan, some reliable bolt-ons, and a good crew willing to turn wrenches in the dirt.

Whether you're chasing lap times or content clicks, LS Fest is the perfect place to get your hands dirty—and maybe, just maybe, go a little faster in the process.
