Vehicle Overview

This F100 was my dad's last truck he purchased in 78 after closing his landscaping business. In 2005 my dad could no longer drive, so my brother took the truck over and had it for ten years. At that point, my brother decided he wanted to sell the truck but not wanting it to go to someone outside the family, and I bought it from my brother. I drove it for about six months till the transmission finally gave out. I parked it and it sat for five years on the side of my house didn't have the money at the time to work on it. When my youngest daughter started to drive, she took an interest in the truck and decided she wanted to take the truck over and get it back on the road. So we spent the last part of 2019 and all of 2020 working on the truck. We pulled the motor, trans, and rear end, and the old 302 had already been bored to 60 over, which left my daughter and me no room to rebuild. A friend of mine had a 289 laying around, which we bored 30 over and planted that back in the truck. We rebuilt the transmission and freshened up the rear end. Replace most of the original wiring on the truck due to age. Added a new gauge cluster from New Vintage USA. Replaced all bushings and suspension components, added new tires. My wife and I built new door panels and seats for the truck, pulled out the dash. Installed a new AC kit, which the truck never came with from Classic Auto Air. We recently ordered a new Holley Sniper EFI 2300 for the truck and hope to have that in here in the next few weeks.

Future Plans

We hope to get the paint refreshed; (maybe) my daughter loves the look as it sits. She would also like to locate the OG wheels. We also need to replace all the door seals, and I would like to re-dip all chrome on the truck. Again we might re-dip chrome. We Want to update all Lighting on the truck to LED lights and replace glass; most of the OG glass scratched. Eventually, I would like to update the suspension with a front clip for better handling. But my daughter loves the original look, feel, and idea of the truck. We might just leave it as it sits. The truck runs excellent, so items like that are a mood point.
