Vehicle Overview

This car has been a dream car of mine since I was kid after seeing one a local car show. After searching for several years I finally found this one 6 years ago, listed on craigslist of all places. It was only listed for 20 minutes before I called and made arrangements to buy it. I live in Wisconsin and it was listed in western Minnesota, so I had to plan a weekend trip to get it. When I arrived I was the 2nd person to start it in 27 years, the first person was the guy I bought it from (the original owners nephew). I literally drove out of a barn, covered in dust & bird droppings, still wearing the last set of tires that were put on 1981 from Sears. it didn't run very well but it ran and that was good enough for me at the time. she's pretty much stock appearing, still wearing the original Sahara Beige paint, it's a factory A/C car, power steering, power drum brake, green tinted glass, with deluxe interior. The original sales paperwork was still in the glove box along with several years of insurance and registration cards from different states it lived in. She was sold new at Courtesy Motor Sales in Chicago, Illinois, at the time it was billed as the world's largest Ford dealership (that's a good sales gimmick lol). I replaced the original 352 4-Barrel FE V8 with a mildly built 390 FE. Had the stock Cruise-O-Matic green dot C4 automatic rebuilt and beefed up a little. Replaced the stock 3:00 open rear diff gears with 3:55 with a factory style limited slip. I installed long tube Hooker Super Comp Headers with mechanical cutouts and Magnaflow exhaust. Obviously I changed out the stock wheels with new American Eagle Torque Thrust II and some BFG's for a more aggressive look, I also replaced the original rear shocks with Monroe air shocks to give a mild rake and better ride quality.

Completed Modifications

Drivetrain/Transmission/Differential (1)
Fuel System (2)
Suspension/Steering/Chassis (1)

Future Plans

Planning a built 428 FE, with a goal of 700 hp at the crank, will replace the cruise-o-matic with a built C6 auto. Full suspension overhaul (possibly Hotchkiss set up). Have the seats reupholstered.
