The Chrysler 300 was Mopar's first use of the all-new LX platform which was their first RWD sedan since 1983. To properly put its FWD predecessors in the past, Chrysler made the 300C the first car to use the 3rd Generation Hemi V8 which sent 340 hp to the crankshaft.
