The Mustang II is often underappreciated and misunderstood. A product of the US oil crisis, tightening emission standards, and a customer base dissatisfied with how big the Mustang had grown, Lee Iacocca commissioned a much lighter and nimbler version of the heavy muscle cars of the past to stay relevant in the present.
