1978 brought big changes to GMC's car-truck. The Sprint name was dropped in favor of Caballero, and it now rested on G-Body architecture. While it wasn't exactly the performer it was in stock form in the muscle car era, the G-Body platform is able to easily accommodate a plethora of upgrades and engine swaps.
